Participants are encouraged to make reservations prior to May 30, 2008. After that date the rooms will be released and made available to other groups who may be visiting campus. Late reservations will be accommodated in so far as possible, but the rooms are not guaranteed after May 30. There are hotels nearby, but be advised that there are a number of festivals in Milwaukee during the summer and hotels rooms may be difficult to find at the last minute. Two of the closest hotels are the Hilton Milwaukee City Center at 509 W. Wisconsin Ave., http://www.hiltonmilwaukee.com/, 414-271-7250 and the Ambassador Hotel Milwaukee at 2308 W. Wisconsin Ave., http://www.ambassadormilwaukee.com/, 414-342-8400.

Due to repair work in the Straz Tower parking lot, parking will be made available in the Wells Street Parking Structure (#71 on the map), on Wells St. at 13th at an estimated cost of $5.00-$6.00 per night.

For those who drive to the Marquette University campus, there is convenient parking for an hourly fee. Refer to the campus map at http://www.marquette.edu/contact/CampusMap.pdf for lot locations. Marquette's campus is only 15 miles from General Mitchell International Airport and a few short blocks from the Amtrak station or Greyhound terminal. For those navigating the highway from north, south or west, Marquette is a convenient exit off I-94 or I-43.

Airport Connection offers shared van service 24 hours a day from Milwaukee’s Mitchell Field, Chicago O’Hare and Midway Airports. Two hours one way is approximately $150 r/t from Midway. For advance reservations: 1-800-236-5450 or http://www.mkelimo.com/. Taxi service is another transportation option from Mitchell International Airport, the Amtrak station and Greyhound terminal.

Request for photographs:

We plan to put together a slide show and photo album that will cover all eras of Tony's lab. The slide show will be on display at the dinner and throughout the breaks in the symposium. We are soliciting scanned photographs in JPEG or PDF format for this purpose. Any images that you think are pertinent are welcome. However, please remember NOT to send us any original prints as we would hate to lose any of these valuable photos in transit. You can send the images by email or on a CD to: Christine Pratt (pratt@ciwemb.edu; HHMI - Carnegie Institution, 3520 San Martin Drive, Baltimore, MD 21218). We will be happy to send the electronic copies of all the images to those who request them after the symposium.
