This meeting is designed for principal investigators leading research programs using zebrafish or medaka. Its broad goals are to facilitate collaboration, to optimize sharing of knowledge and to identify key areas in which these systems can make highly significant contributions to biomedical and basic research.
The 2009 SCZI has the following goals:
- Foster scientific collaboration and communication among PIs.
- Discuss novel techniques under development, and those of future importance.
- Report on current use of the zebrafish/medaka systems to define the etiology and treatment of human disease.
- Consider specific human disorders, as well as other topics that are well suited to future analysis with the fish model.
